AFTERMATH: LANDSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHS BY JOHN GOLLINGS

John Gollings is widely acknowledged as one of Australia’s premier photographers of the built environment.

The exhibition Aftermath: Landscape photographs by John Gollings from Black Saturday presents a series of images taken by Gollings of the landscape after bushfires burnt across Victoria on and around Saturday, 7 February 2009

Gollings did not wish to record the personal tragedies, or the distruction to homes and buildings, but to reflect on the power of nature through photographing the landscape in the aftermath of the fire, a stark and vivid landscape baring its anatomy, as we have never seen before.” Robert Lindsay, Director, McClelland Sculpture Park+Gallery

The 300x300mm 52pp full colour catalogue features all 36 works in the exhibition, as well as essays and a transcription of a video interview between John Gollings and Robert Lindsay.
